Charlie Changil Choe, age 65, died on May 16th, 2017 at home in Charlotte. He was born on November 6, 1951 in Seoul, Korea. He served in the Korean Air Force from 1971 to 1973 and then came to the United States in 1974. He enlisted in the US Army in 1975 and served until 1984, honorably discharged at the rank of a supply sergeant. Charlie Changil Choe, age 65, died on May 16th, 2017 at home in Charlotte. He was born on November 6, 1951 in Seoul, Korea. He served in the Korean Air Force from 1971 to 1973 and then came to the United States in 1974. He enlisted in the US Army in 1975 and served until 1984, honorably discharged at the rank of a supply sergeant. Once he left the Armed Forces, he relocated his family to Charlotte in 1985 to pursue the American Dream. With great determination, hard work and much sacrifice, Charlie was a self-made successful business owner who was able to provide his family a better life.

Charlie is survived by his loving wife and partner of 41 years, Grace Min Choe. Together, they worked side by side in life and business. He enjoyed all sports, especially golf. He also taught Grace to golf so that they could spend their leisure time out on the courses together. A devout Christian, he was a member of First Korean Presbyterian Church. Charlie will be remembered for his incredibly strong work ethic, entrepreneurial spirit and commitment to family. He is also survived by two children, Elisa Choi and her husband, Michael and Andrew Choe and his wife, Yeonmin. He was a wonderful grandfather to Victoria and Alexander Choi.

Visitation will be held at 8:00pm on Friday, May 19, 2017 at McEwen Funeral Service at Sharon Memorial Park located at 5716 Monroe Road, Charlotte, NC 28212. A funeral service will be held at 10:30am on Saturday, May 20, 2017 at McEwen Funeral Service at Sharon Memorial Park with interment following the service at Sharon Memorial Park.
